Jerome G. Kabat

Jerome G. Kabat, age 91, entered eternal life on Thursday, October 8, 2015 with his loving wife by his side.
Jerome is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Vern; loving children, Marilyn (Tom) Palmer, Rick (Brenda), and Bill (Mary Ann) Kabat; 10 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jerome received many medals and awards for his honorable service during WWII. He was a lifetime Joliet resident and member of American Legion Post 1080. Jerome was an avid golfer. He was an outgoing person. "If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours," is a simple saying that summed up the person that Jerome was. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Jerome's life will begin on Thursday, October 15, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:30 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 14 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet.
