Jeno Toke, age 80, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side, following a long battle with Alzheimer's Disease.
Jeno was born on January 30, 1935 in Nagymakfa, Hungary. He left Hungary in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution with his wife, Eva and brother Otto. They settled in Crest Hill, started a family, and have been residents since 1956. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters Union Local #597 for many years. His hobbies included racing pigeons and thoroughbred horses. He loved his hobby farm and spent countless hours caring for the animals and building in his workshop.
Jeno is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eva; daughters, Judit Ksiazak, Susan(Rick) Wilhelmi, and Ildiko (Paul) Vineis; grandchildren Magda, Ilona, Michelle, Rick, Paul, Michael and Christina; and brother Otto (Rose).
Preceded in death by his daughter, Kathleen; parents, Martin & Terez Toke, sister Iren, and brothers Imre, Karoly, Gyula and Bela; all of Hungary.
The family wishes to thank the Joliet Area Community Hospice for their generous support during his final days.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Jeno's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Per Jeno's wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial/ luncheon will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2015 at the Croatian Cultural Club in Joliet from 2-4 p.m.
