Age 42 of Joliet, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 2, 2023 after a long brave battle with addiction.
Jennifer is survived by her loving sons: Jayden Delgado and Jaxx Hines; her loving mother: Bonnie Colvin (nee LeStronge); dear nephews: Ricky Peters, Gavin Colvin, and Greyson Joutras, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father: Cary Colvin; sister: Sheri Colvin; brother: Kevin (Heather) Colvin; maternal grandparents: Richard and JoAnn LeStronge, and paternal grandparents: Delbert Sr. and Audrey Colvin, as well as numerous aunts and uncles.
Jennifer never wanted to be defined only by her addiction and mistakes, she was so much more than that. She was a beautiful, intelligent child who came from a good family in the suburbs who fell into its grip. It can happen to anyone. She was feisty and outspoken but would do anything for anyone and always lit up the room with her smile and sense of humor even while struggling with her demons. She loved her family deeply, wanted to adopt every animal she saw, and play with every child she came across. To know Jenny was to love her, and she made friends everywhere she went. But her role as a mother to her two sons is what was first and foremost, and they are what kept her going. She treasured her children and embraced every moment she spent with them when she was well enough, and when her depression allowed her to get out of the house, and to do things together with them. She struggled every single day grieving all of the people she lost that she loved so dearly, and now it is our turn to grieve the loss of her. May all who loved Jennifer find comfort knowing that she is no longer in pain and suffering. She is finally at home in the loving arms of the Lord, and resting peacefully with all who went before her, who she so desperately missed while here on earth. Heaven has gained another Angel, and with that went a little piece of each one of our hearts.
Per Jennifer’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
