""Wolf""
""Wheels""
Age 57, won eternal life peacefully on Friday, April 18, 2008. He and his tenacious character eluded cancer for years. He was born in Joliet, having recently retired after 37 years working at Com Ed.
Survived by his loving wife and soul mate ""Genny"". His pride and joy were his children, son Jason (Katie), daughter Nicole, and grandson Trent. Jay leaves behind his father, Donald E. Wheeler, his brother James (Melodie), sisters Susan (Brian) Mehon, and Karen (Ted) Sari. Also surviving are Jay's sister-in-law Marie (Tony) Behm, and brother-in-law Vitty (Sheri) Briedis, sister-in-law Susie (Dave) Thayer and several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by mother Helen Grace Wheeler, mother and father-in-law George and Anna Briedis and brother-in-law John Briedis.
Jay also leaves behind many special friends, thank you all for helping.
Jay graduated from Joliet West (1969); played keyboards in the band Saints & Sinners; active in many baseball and premiere 12"" softball teams, avid card player, huge Illini and White Sox fan. Yet, the highlight of Jay's life was always watching Jason & Nikki playing sports.
Always the humorist, Jay often joked about how he could have been Mayor of Joliet but instead settled for the greenest lawn in town. Finally at peace, may the ""Wolfman"" always howl in heaven.
In lieu of flowers, Jay expressed donations to further Nikki's education.
P.S. If you own stock in Old Style...SELL IT!
