Janice M. Andrews

Janice M. Andrews, age 84, entered her heavenly home on Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox, IL.

Janice was born and raised on Joliet’s East Side where she attended St Cyril & Methodius, as well as St. Francis Academy. While working at Barrets, on the corner of Henderson and Jackson, she met dad and raised her family on Henderson Ave; where they lived from 1957 to 1977, before moving to Cherry Hill in New Lenox. Her joys were polkas, Christmas carols, the Hallmark Channel, and Lawrence Welk. Mom loved the Slovenski Dom, polka dancing, and crafting ceramics. She loved to entertain for her family and friends with her baking and cooking. Janice also loved family vacations to the Colorado, Florida and Wisconsin. A die hard Cubs fan her whole life, she and dad loved watching sports together and cherishing her time with grandsons, Ryan and Brandon, her whole life. Now, mom and dad will get to spend what would have been their 65th wedding anniversary, on February 2nd, in heaven and eternal life together.

Preceded in death by the love of her life Donald “Soupy” Andrews, who passed on December 10, 2021; parents Anthony and Helen Spillie; brother in law Les “Doc” Egbert of Frankfort November 9th 2021; ln-laws Ardel and Mary Andrews; brother in-laws Ardel Jr., Gordon , Mel, Perry and Chuck Andrews; sister in-laws, Becky Powers, Myrtle Lowery and Barbara Granda.

Left, to cherish her memory are her sons Donald (Minette) Andrews Jr., of Shorewood; David (Jamie) Andrews of Joliet; and Anthony (Jennifer) Andrews of New Lenox; loving grandchildren Ryan Andrews of Wheaton, IL. and Brandon Andrews of Mesa, AZ; sister, Judith Egbert of Frankfort; brother Anthony (Donna) Spillie of Shorewood; brother in-law Jack (Linda) Andrews of Panama City, FL., and numerous step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren and her beloved four legged companion Brindy. A very special Thanks to her loving care giver “Bea” and the IC Unit at Silver Cross Hospital as well as Joliet Area Community Hospice.

A celebration of Mom’s life will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022, with a visitation at St Josephs Catholic Church, 416 N. Chicago Street, Joliet, IL from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. until the time of funeral service to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St Joseph Cemetery in Joliet, IL.

Donations in moms name may be made to St. Joseph’s Church Joliet, IL. A memorial will be held in Janice name on August 27,2022.
