Janett Marie Farkas

Janett Marie Farkas (nee Funk), age 70, entered eternal life on November 19, 2014, peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving daughters.

Janett is survived by her loving daughters, Elizabeth Brooks of East Peoria, IL, Monika (Carl) Loewes of Des Plaines, IL, and Jennifer (Mark) Demick of Plainfield, IL; cherished grandchildren, Luke, Ryan, and Cole Brooks, Paul and Olivia Loewes, Erik Demick; two dear sisters, Etta Martis of Pekin, IL, Sophie (Jerry) Agatucci of Peoria, IL; one dear brother, Jim Funk of St. Petersburg, FL; special companion, Frank Papatyi of Bloomington, IL; life-long friend, Rozalie Toke; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 31 years, Paul Farkas; parents, Sam and Etta (nee Rogers) Funk; twin sister, Jeanette Radosevic-Street; and five other siblings, Ruth Boyd, Helen Adkins, Sam, Fred, and Dorothy Funk.

Janett was known as Momma Farkas not only to her children and their close friends but also to those individuals she worked closely with at Trinity Services for 24 years. She was an active member of the Croatian Cultural Club. Beloved Nona, Janett will be greatly missed by her cherished grandchildren as well as those she considered her grandchildren.

A Celebration of Janett's life will begin on Saturday, November 22, 2014 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, November 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL 60435.
