James Philip Zlogar
May 4, 1940 — August 19, 2011
James ""Jim"" P. Zlogar, age 71, of Homer Glen passed away August 19, 2011 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Marilynn nee Mathis; loving father of Laura (J.R.) Gillogly and Lisa (James) Blair; cherished grandfather of Norah Gillogly; dear brother of Marguerite Nelson; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents Margaret and Albin Zlogar, his brother Albin Zlogar and sister Lucille Clarke.
Jim was a bass player and singer in several local bands in the area and a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. He retired from Amoco Chemical Company after 37 years of employment.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL 60431 or St. John Vianney Catholic Church, 401 Brassel Street, Lockport, IL 60441.
A memorial mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, August 24 at 7:00 pm at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Lockport. Visitation will be at the church from 6:00 pm until the time of mass.
