James A. Stastny Jr.
Age 85 of Inverness, Florida, passed away May 11, 2016 at his residence in Inverness.
Born January 8, 1931 in Chicago, James was a son of the late James A. and Ellen "Alice" (Mladek) Stastny. He worked in the masonry construction industry, and lived most of his life in Illinois. In 1996, Jim relocated to Florida, where he resided in the Ocala area prior to moving to Inverness. He enjoyed fishing, camping, spending time outdoors, country music and dancing, and outdoor recreation.
Survivors include his loving wife of 15 years, Joyce (Sanford) Stastny; children: James Michael (Val) Stastny of Lisle and Barbara Tanner of Downers Grove; son-in-law: John Cremens of Yorkville; step children: Thomas Sanford (fiance' Michelle McKim) of Wilmington and Ellen (Don) Theobald of Plainfield; 11 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother Frank Stastny of California, and step sister Anne Beth (Bob) Wolfe of Madison, WI.
Jim was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Stastny in 1989; daughter, Kathryn Cremens; son-in-law Jeff Tanner, brother Anthony Stastny, step-brother Tone Jirsa, and two step-sons: Michael and Steve Sanford.
Cremation rites have been accorded. The family will receive friends at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 5:00 p.m. until time of Life Celebration at 7:00 p.m.
