James G. Novak, Sr

James G. Novak Sr., age 67, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 with his loving family by his side.

James is survived by his loving wife of 33 years, Melanie Novak (nee Wlodarek); children, Sarah E. Novak and James G. Novak Jr.

Preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Betty (nee Cryder) Novak; first wife, Mary (nee Strube) Novak.

James was employed by the U.S. Railroad Retirement Board for 38 years and was also a Field Investigator for MUFON. James was an avid Chicago White Sox and Chicago Bears fan. He loved playing Chess and going to the casino. James also loved his pet cat Switch, Star Trek, the Rolling Stones, Dunkin Donuts Coffee and UFO's. He was a loving husband, father, and friend who will be truly missed.

A celebration of James' life will begin on Monday, August 17, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Justice. Visitation will be on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 1-7 p.m.
