James P. Mutz Jr

July 23, 1963 — August 20, 2011

James P. Mutz, Jr., 48, of Joliet, at rest August 20, 2011 after a year-long battle with cancer. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years Tracey nee Flynn; his cherished daughters Laurenn Flynn, Christine Flynn, Angelica Mutz and Tamara Mutz; adoring Pop to his granddaughter Kaylee Ann; loving siblings Marty (Cathy) Mutz, Bob (Gail Ambrose) Mutz and Diana Smith; and his father-in-law Paul A. Flynn. Also survived by many extended family members of the Mutz, Flynn and Keca families. A lifelong amount of friends also survive near and far.

He was preceded in death by his parents James P. Sr. and Helen Mutz nee Keca, his mother-in-law Marian Flynn nee Donahue, his cousin and good friend Thomas Dragovan, and his best friend and garage buddy Robbie Alstott.

Jim was a proud 25 year union member of the Laborer"s Local #75. His passion was his family. He loved watching his daughters play soccer through elementary, middle and high school. His love of Chevy cars was well known, and you could usually find Jim in his garage or at a friend"s working on and/or restoring cars and rebuilding motors, large and small. Jim especially enjoyed helping others with their cars and passing his knowledge on to those he cared about. He really enjoyed snowmobiling, and headed to Michigan and Wisconsin for yearly snowmobiling trips with friends. He was also a long-time member of the Illini Powerboaters Racing Team. He made some wonderful friends and memories while racing and working on his boats. Most of all Jim will be remembered by his unparalleled sense of humor, his huge heart, and his never-ending love for family and friends.

A Celebration of Jim"s life will held on Friday, August 26, 2011, starting with prayers at the funeral home at 9:30 am, then in procession to St. Patrick Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 am. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, from 3 ""A�?? 8 PM at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
