James D. Kozar

Age 69, of Crest Hill, at rest at the Joliet Area Community Hospice on Sunday, June 10, 2007 after a courageous battle with Leu-kemia.

Born September 12, 1937, he was a graduate of Joliet Township Hi-gh School (1955) and Joliet Junior College (1957). He served honorably in the U.S. Army from 1961 to 1963.

Survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Carol (nee Britz) Kozar; six loving children, Jim Kozar of Crest Hill, Therese (Brian) Schank of Anthem, AZ., Ken (Elaine) Kozar of LaGrange Park, IL., Jennifer (Allan) Zarbock of Channahon, Ted (Pam) Kozar of Aurora, and Denise (Eric) Scott of Channahon; nine grandchildren, Stephanie, Riley, Owen, Brandon, Kristin, Zachary, Sarah, Gretchen, and Emily; four brothers, Nicholas (Delores) Kozar, Joseph (Mary Lou) Kozar, Anton (Joan) Kozar, John (Aldona) Kozar; sister Carol, Kozar; sister-in-law, Lois Kozar; numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents, Nicholas and Mary (nee Macak) Kozar; sister, Barbara Grace of Rockford, IL.; and brother, William of Minooka.

The family wishes to give the Joliet Area Community Hospice a special thank you for their compassion and thoughtfulness.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests Masses or donations be sent to the Joliet Area Community Hospice, 250 Water Stone Circle, Joliet, IL. 60431.

From where services will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 16, 2007 to St. Mary Nativity Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. Interment will be at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill, IL. Visitation will be held on Saturday at the Funeral Home from 8:30-10:30 AM.
