James F. Kinsley, age 86, passed away Sunday, May 17, 2015 at Joliet Area Community Hospice.
A lifelong resident of Joliet. Veteran of the U.S. Army Special Weapons Project from 1946 to 1948. He retired from Commonwealth Edison after 40 years. He was a member of the National Exchange Club of Joliet.
He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Dorothy (nee Strahanoski); children, Susan (Joseph) Futterer, James (Therese), Timothy (Nancy), and Edward (Janice); sister Norma (the late Irving) Bessette, 8 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Josephine Kinsley and his sister, Carol Ballak.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James' name to Joliet Area Community Hospice (www.joliethospice.org) would be appreciated.
A celebration of James' life will begin on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 11:30 a.m. then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 12:00 p.m. Inurnment with full military honors to follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Per James' wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
