James N. Hennings, “Jim”, age 80, rejoined his beloved wife Lois in Heaven on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
James is survived by his loving daughters, Ann (Michael) Murray and Lynn (Chester) Wartenberg; cherished grandchildren, Jennifer (Jason) Crisostomo and Lindsey (Doug) Donaway, Angela (Adam Gerencher), Laura (Serafin Rodriguez), Gina (Scott Reyes), David, and Christina Wartenberg; cherished great-grandchildren, Jacelyn, McKenzi, and Noah, John Thomas, Luci, and Lily Lynn; sisters, Shirley (the late Thomas) Shortley, Norma (the late James) Meader and Olive (James) Stefanich; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by his wife, Lois (nee Fandak) Hennings; parents, Edward and Lillian (nee Davis) Hennings; brother, William Hennings.
Jim was a proud United States Marine Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #1080. He was employed by Rendel’s Auto Body Shop for over 40 years and worked for Car Care before his retirement. Jim enjoyed working in the yard and took great pride in its appearance. He was a devoted Chicago Cubs fan and enjoyed watching sports and Wheel of Fortune on T.V. Jim was also an animal lover and always had pets around the house. He will be dearly missed.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and CNA’s at Sunny Hill Nursing Home for the excellent care provided.
A celebration of James’ life will begin on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
