James J. Felbinger, 60, died of complications from pneumonia
February 14, 2008 at the Midwest Regional Medical Center in Zion, IL.
Felbinger is survived by his mother, Mary Ann (Stukel) Felbinger; a brother, Richard L. Felbinger (Cindy L. Felbinger) of Richland, MI; a sister, Claire L. Felbinger (Richard D. Bingham) of Washington, DC; and a niece, Molly Felbinger of St. Charles, IL. He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and close friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ted C. Felbinger, with whom he shared the joys of wine making, aviation, and photography. He also follows his maternal grandparents, Stephen Stukel and Mary (Horvat) Stukel.
For many years Jim worked as a chemist at the Exxon-Mobil Corporation. He was known as a leading wine brewer and enthusiast. He was very active in the Experimental Aircraft Association, in the Replica Air Fighters Association, and the Sky Nights of Bristol, WI. His vintage cars were very visible at Car Shows in the Western Chicago Suburbs.
A Memorial Service for Jim Felbinger will be held at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL., Thursday, March 27, at 11:00 AM. A private internment for the family will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Lymphoma Research Foundation, 115 Broadway, 13th Floor, New York, NY 10006.
