James J. Dallavia,57, passed away unexpectedly on Friday November 29th 2024 at Ascension Saint Joseph, Joliet, IL.
James graduated from Mt. Zion High School class of 1985. He received his apprenticeship license from The International Brotherhood of Painters in 1995. He worked for Talaga Decorating as a union painter for 15 years and also worked at Acorn Pharmaceutical, Monarch Landing, and was most recently employed at Lion Electric.
James was an avid bears and cubs fan and loved watching football games with his son. He loved doing yard work, and helping everyone around him with his big Italian heart. His devotion to his family was unwavering, and he was a tremendous support to everyone around him. He was also a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
James is survived by his loving son Zachary Ryan Dallavia, his siblings: Kimberly Dallavia, Timothy Dallavia, Lynnette Dallavia, Jaimie Feril (Steve Feril); nieces and nephews: Ashtin Snyder (Mike Snyder), Taylor Bond, Kiersten Johnson, Kyler Johnson, and Karter Johnson, and 6 great nieces and nephews.
James is preceded in death by his father William August. Dallavia (2004), his mother Beverly Jean Ernest (2010), his father Gerald Ramond Ernest Jr. (2011), grandparents John P. Walsh Sr., Mary J. Walsh, August Dallavia, Mary Dallavia, Gerald R. Ernest Sr., Theresa Ernest.
Visitation will be held on Friday, December 6, 2024 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Tezak's Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd. Joliet IL, following the visitation the funeral procession will depart for a chapel service at Woodlawn Memorial Park, 23060 W Jefferson St, Joliet, IL. Following the service cremation will follow in accordance with his wishes.
