James W. Bloch, age 75, passed away peacefully on Wednesday October 31, 2012 with his loving family by his side.
Survived by his loving wife of 53 years Donna Rae; two children Rita Rae (Mark) Geyer and Jim (Nancy) Bloch; five grandchildren Megan, Matthew, and Michael Geyer; Jacob and Nicole Bloch; one sister Jean (late Darwin) Gunderson; one brother-in-law Paul DePodesta; four sisters-in-law Madeline (Anthony) Golobitsh, Mary Jo (David) Mauzer, Jane (Gerald) Kobe and Joyce (late Joseph) DePodesta; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Alfred and Josephine Bloch; two brothers Alfred (Dorothy), Donald (Matilda); and one sister Helen (Donald) Warsaw.
James attended St. JohnA�??s grade school and graduated from Joliet Catholic High School. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for over 37 years and after he retired he drove a school bus part-time for Crawford Bus Service. James was a member of the Moran A.C. and served in the United States Army for two years. He was an avid golfer with three holes-in-one to show for it. James was a loving husband, a caring father and grandfather who always put his family first. He will be missed by all who knew him.

A Celebration of JamesA�?? life will begin on Saturday, November 3, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home chapel then moving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill.
