Jack D. McDonald, 95, of Joliet, IL, passed away on June 29, 2024. Jack was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, who lived a full and vibrant life.
Jack was a self-employed businessman, running Westside Shell Service with dedication and pride. He found joy in traveling with his beloved wife and had a deep, unmeasurable love for his children. Jack enjoyed dining out, especially savoring his favorite breakfast of biscuits and gravy. From a young age, he also harbored a passion for horses.
Jack is survived by his loving children, Kelly (Jim) Walker, Chris McDonald, and Jackie (Tom) Tezak; his cherished grandchildren, Brandon Walker and Jill Tezak; and his adored great-granddaughter, Madilynn Tezak.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife Lucy A. (nee Vallera) McDonald; grandson: Scott Tezak parents: John and Lola McDonald; and his siblings, Bob McDonald, Chuck McDonald, Beatrice (nee McDonald) Burgett, and Iola (nee McDonald) Handlon.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a visitation on Saturday, July 6, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet with Funeral Services will be held shortly after at Resurrection Cemetery, 200 W. Romeo Rd, Romeoville, IL where he laid to rest with his wife Lucy.
Jack's warmth, love, and adventurous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in Jack’s name to Trinity Services would be appreciated.
