Isidro Alvarez
“Izzy”
Age 85 of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at his home with his family by his side.
Born January 2, 1934 in Barrazas Durango, Mexico, Isidro was a son of Candelario and Reumalda (Luna) Alvarez. He was raised and educated in Mexico and in the late sixties moved to the Joliet area with his family. Izzy worked as a laborer for Joliet Equipment Corporation until retiring in 1999. He was a simple man who believed in hard work to provide for his family. Izzy was a devoted catholic and staple in his neighborhood who will be remembered for his kind heart. He lived life by his motto... “Izzy come, Izzy go”.
Survived by his children: Rosa Maria, Benito (Lucy), Candelario (Isabel), Eva (Miguel), Teresa (Rogelio) and Nilda (Tomas); grandchildren: Gabriela (Porfirio), Melina, Fabian, Arianna, Bianca, Nesly, Manuela, Junior, Amanda, Mikey, Adam, Nico, Mia, Ziva, Gustavo, Alondra and Yazira; wife: Rosa Meraz; partner: Dolores Alvarez; brothers: Gumaro Alvarez and Feliciano (Chano) Alvarez, as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Izzy is preceded in death by his parents, Candelario and Reumalda; brothers: Cornelio and Tereso Alvarez and grandson, Angel Alvarez.
Family will receive relatives and friends on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral service, 7:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
Per Izzy’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded following services.
