Irene A. Orenic “Nano” (nee Kuta), age 79, passed away at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center on Saturday, December 26, 2015 with her loving family by her side.
Irene is survived by her daughter, Denise M. (Richard Jr.) Shroba; grandson, Eric Joseph (Maureen) Shroba; great-grandchildren, Scott Joseph Shroba and Kyle Philip Shroba; brother, Robert (Jan) Worek; sister-in-law, Phyllis (the late Stanley) Kuta; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by her parents, Stanley Kuta and Irene (nee Dunajewski) Worek; step-father, Stanley Worek; brother, Stanley Kuta Jr.; grandson, Scott Allen Shroba.
Irene retired from Illinois Bell Telephone Company after many years of dedicated service. She was a member of the Illinois Bell Pioneers Club. Irene was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood. Her life was dedicated to her daughter and grandchildren and she loved spending time with her family. Irene enjoyed going on shopping excursions in Lake Geneva and spoiling her two dogs, Izzy and Zoey.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home, the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center and Dr. Suh, Dr. Karin, Dr. Nagarkatte and Dr. Hathi.
A celebration of Irene’s life will begin on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:15 a.m. then driving in procession to Holy Family Catholic Church in Shorewood for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet. Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
