Irene fell asleep in the Lord Monday, March 25, 2013 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home.
Survived by her husband Norbert of 67 years; daughter Connie (Judge Gerald) Kinney; sons, Michael (Nancy) and David (Joyce) Cora; grandchildren, Christina (Kevin) Troc, Brian Kinney, Jonathan (fiancA�AC. Laura Geiss), Natalie, and Nicholas Cora, Jennifer (fiancA�AC.e Thomas Appell), Nicole (Jeff) Kazen, and Melissa Cora; great-grandchildren, Autumn Bouquet, Lorena Appell, Katrina, and Shane Kazen.
Preceded in death by her mother, Rose (Salatic), father, Niko Mitrovich, brothers, John and Adam (in infancy), and sister, Bozica (in infancy).
Irene was an active member of the Circle of Serbian Sisters of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church.
The family thanks her friends and church family for all the prayers and cards she received. She enjoyed all the years with her club ladies who would meet monthly and play dominoes.
A very special thank you to all the caring personnel at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home as well as Dr. Joseph Hindo for his medical care and family support over the years.

A Celebration of IreneA�??s life will begin Saturday March 30, 2013 with a funeral service beginning at 10:00 am at St. George Serbian Orthodox Church. She will lie-in-state from 9:30 am until the time of the funeral service. Visitation will be on Friday, March 29, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a pomen service beginning at 7:30 pm at TezakA�??s Home to Celebrate Life. Private Interment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
