Indira Doobay

Joliet, IL- A mother, wife, sister, and friend died yesterday at her home; she was 61 years young. She died of complication do to colorectal (colon) cancer which she had been fighting since 2005, her son, Neil Narine, said in a statement released by the family. Born July 3, 1947, Indi was always known for putting others before herself. For the last twenty-five years she has been serving those who have fought for our country as a Registered Nurse at the Edward Hines, Jr. Veteran's Hospital in Hines, IL.

She was preceded into her next life by her parents, Hiraman and Jesoda Doobay; and her Mother and Father-in-law, Mildred and Cletus Mahoney.

Indi's love will never be forgotten by those she has left behind, especially her husband, Bill and only son, Neil, as well four sisters, one brother, and nine nieces and nephews. Along with her family, Indi will always be remembered and cherished by the hundreds of friends she has made during her lifetime. One of Indi's final wishes was that rather than flowers for her, she is requesting donations to Saint Jude School in Joliet or the Edward Hospital Cancer Center in Naperville.
