Henry W. Ricken Age 79. At rest Friday, November 4, 2005 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet. Survived by his loving and devoted wife of 47 years, Gloria A. (nee Eipers) Ricken; his children, Ann (John) Shaffstall, Erwin Ricken, William (Maryann) Ricken, and Brian (Susan) Ricken; 10 grandchildren, John W., Bill and Hannah Shaffstall, Kati, Matthew and Jacob Ricken, Nicole Scott, Westley, Dylan and Joshua; a sister, Catherine (late Stanley) Slachetka; his mother-in-law, Rose (late William) Eipers. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Katherine (nee Poppelreiter) Ricken; five brothers, Albert, John, Edward, Paul and Robert Ricken; and a step grandson, Michael Scott. Henry was born in Lemont, IL and has resided in the Joliet area for most of his life. A graduate of Joliet Catholic High School (1944). A United States Navy veteran serving his country during World War II. Henry retired from Argonne National Laboratory in 1988 after 37 years of service. He was a devout Catholic and served his parishes as an Usher for numerous years. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart/Stroke Association in his name, would be appreciated. Interment St. Alphonse Cemetery in Lemont. VISITATION and VIDEO TRIBUTE will be Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
