Helen R. D'Atri "Lou"

Helen Rose D'Atri "Lou" (nee Tankovic), age 89, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2014.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Joseph D'Atri; one son, Frank (Lana); and one grandson, Justin (Rahel).
Preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Matilda Tankovic; brothers, John, George and Joseph; sisters, Elsie and Josephine.
Helen was born and raised in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Township High School. In her early years she worked for U.S. Steel and Wire as well as an ammunition plant. She was also a member of the Croatian Cultural Club and the American Legion. Helen was a lifelong member of St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet. She will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen's name to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
A celebration of Helen's life will begin on Thursday, December 18, 2014 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be held privately at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery in Crest Hill.
