Helen (nee Enich) Kostelec, age 101, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2017 at Alden Estates of Naperville.
Helen is survived by her loving children, Steve (Terry) Kostelec and Rosemary (Alan) Krol; cherished grandchildren, Steve (Tiffany) Kostelec, John (Andrea) Kostelec, Michael (Kristyn) Kostelec, Helen Krol, Kristin (Joshua Swanner) Krol, Mary Krol and Holly Krol; great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Zachary, Sawyer, Landon, Sara, Tessa, Emma, Joseph, Asher and Hadley; sister, Rose Zubich; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Preceded in death by her loving husband, Ludwig Kostelec; son, William Kostelec; grandson, Alan Krol; siblings, Mike, George, Mary and Steve.
Helen was born in Boone, Iowa and lived in Minnesota for 25 years. She later resided in Rockdale, IL where she was employed by the American Can Company and Syl’s Restaurant. Helen was a resident at Alden Estates of Naperville for 7 years. She loved to garden and had a wonderful green thumb. Helen enjoyed growing flowers and vegetables. She was such a kind hearted person and a wonderful cook. She treated everyone with the upmost respect. Helen enjoyed spending time with her family and will be dearly missed.
Funeral services for Helen Kostelec will begin on Tuesday, August 8, 2017 with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Pomen service at 12:15 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet) then driving in procession to St. George Serbian Orthodox Church in Joliet for a funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery, Romeoville, IL.
