Helen Kon

Helen Kon, age 92, entered eternal life on Thursday, March 26, 2015.

Helen is survived by her loving son, Michael Jon (Gloria) McBride; cherished granddaughters, Kelly (Andy) Hawkinson and Amy McBride; four cherished great grandchildren, Alex, Bailey, Michael, and Ty; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Eva (nee Spurtz) Kon; three brothers; and three sisters.

Helen was very active at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church where she sang in the choir and volunteered much of her time. Her church meant everything to her. She worked at American Can Company for 42 years in Hammond, IN.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at Sunny Hill Nursing Home for the care they provided.

Funeral Services for Helen will begin on Monday, March 30, 2015 with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at St. Nicholas Orthodox Church in Joliet. Interment will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Park. There will be NO VISITATION OR SERVICES HELD AT THE FUNERAL HOME.
