Helen A. Fisher (nee Kegley) “Peewee,” age 88, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 surrounded by her loving family.
Helen is survived by her loving husband of 69 years, Bernard A. Fisher; sons, David (Linda), Larry (Melissa), Richard (Pamela) and Michael (Deborah) Fisher; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandson; sisters-in-law, Rita (the late Leonard) Fisher and Carol (the late James) Kegley; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents, Stanley and Esther (nee Rauworth) Kegley; her sister, Miriam Weber; and brother, James Kegley.
Helen was a resident of Lockport her entire life and was a parishioner of St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill. She retired from the Lockport Township Supervisor Office after over 30 years of dedicated service. Helen was a loving and devoted mother who dedicated her life to caring for her husband and four sons. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and family. Helen will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the comforting and professional staff at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center and Rainbow Hospice and Palliative Care in Joliet.
A celebration of Helen’s life will begin on Tuesday, September 5, 2017 with a visitation at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road - Joliet, IL) from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Crest Hill for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at a later date.
Per Helen’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded.
