Harold "Bill" W. Barker
February 9, 1930 — February 2, 2017
Harold "Bill" W. Barker, age 86, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 2, 2017 with his loving family by his side.
Harold is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Sheila (nee Foster); children, James (Monica) Barker and Catherine Barker; grandchildren, Matthew and Dylan Barker; sister-in-law, Lorraine (the late Grant) Barker; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his parents, Stanley and Teresa (nee Miller) Barker; two brothers, Grant and Leonard Barker; two sisters, Pat Usher and Joan Barker.
Harold was born in North Bay, Ontario. He resided in Joliet since 1959 and was a long-time parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Raymond. He will be truly missed.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to Dr. Michael Waszak and Dr. Seif Martini as well as his caregiver, Amy, for the wonderful care provided to Harold.
A celebration of Harold’s life will begin on Monday, February 6, 2017 with a visitation at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Per Harold’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following Mass. Interment of cremated remains will be held at a later date in Ontario, Canada.
There will be no funeral home visitation or services.
