Guadalupe was born in San Luis Potosi, Mexico on May 8th, 1946. To her beloved parents Miguel and Concepcion Saldana. She grew up with her 7 siblings Elena, Carmen, Margarita, Concepcion, Miguel, Armando, and Jose. She often shared wonderful memories of her growing up with her family. She became a Red Cross nurse, in which she was so proud to be. She then married her spouse Salvador and began a family of their own (Juan, Concepcion, Leticia, and Jaime). She always strived to give her children the best which lead her to move their family to the United States. Guadalupe worked extremely hard, working 2-3 jobs at a time to help support and give her family the best life possible.
Guadalupe was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She had 4 amazing children, 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. She treasured her children and grandchildren and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as “Wela”. She had a vivacious personality and always made people smile with her beautiful singing voice. Her “grito” was perfection. Always dancing any moment, she could. In her free time, she loved to listen to Vicente Fernandez, Juan Gabriel, Pedro Infante and Pepe Aguilar. She enjoyed crocheting, watching her novelas with her café y conchas, sewing for special occasions and talking with her birds.
Her words of encouragement and wisdom kept us in line. She taught us to be as strong as she was so we could pass this along to our children. Everyone knew they had a special part in her big heart, even in her final days she was selfless and still made sure everyone was okay.
She had a long battle with Liver Cirrhosis. She fought as long and as hard as she could. She was very strong. Through all the procedures, she never complained. While her family was not ready to let her go, God called her home so she is no longer suffering. She is now in Heaven pain free watching over us all. Heaven gained a Beautiful Angel.
