Guadalupe “Lupe” Gamboa

Guadalupe “Lupe” Gamboa was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. Surrounded by loved ones, he passed away in his home in Joliet, IL on Tuesday July 27, 2021 at the age of 80.
He was born to Victor and Mariana (Olguin) Gamboa on June 22nd, 1941 in Brownsville, Texas. Soon after, he met the love of his life, Lidia Gamboa and they moved to Joliet, IL where they started their life and family together. They were married for 62 years.
Lupe’s life was dedicated to taking care of his family. He was the staple of every family function and holiday, and the party didn’t start without him. Every weekend you could find him dancing with his wife Lidia to their favorite genre of music, Tejano. He was very proud of his Texan heritage, but most importantly, he was the representation of a true man for the entire family. There was nothing outside of family for Lupe.
Guadalupe is survived by his wife Lidia (Rodriguez); Siblings; Rumaldo Gamboa (Virginia, dec.), Guadalupe Robles (Salvador), Jesus Gamboa (Consuelo), Jose Angel Gamboa, Marcos Gamboa (Abbey), Angelita Tabares (Adan), Elizabeth Gamboa (Rodney Lee) and Ivonne Gamboa.
Surviving children; Linda Travis (Anthony), Esmeralda Almedia (Eduardo), Guadalupe Gamboa Jr (Sherry), Victor Gamboa, Teresa Capista (Alan), Camelia Harmon (Phillip), Jesus Gamboa; Lupe was blessed with 25 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild “….AND MANY MORE” to come.
The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a Funeral Service to be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Stone Hill Bible Church, 1516 Edgerton Drive, Joliet, IL 60435. Cremation rites have been accorded.
