Guadalupe Diaz

Age 78 of Joliet, passed away peacefully at his home with his family by his side on Thursday, August 16, 2007.

Born December 6, 1928 in Cuan-amuco, GTO Me-xico. Guadalupe was the son of the late Jesus and Sebastiana (Figueroa) Diaz. Guadalupe mov-ed to Joliet in 1980. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Joliet. Guadalupe enjoyed gardening, dancing, spending time with his grandchildren, helping his sons with their work and caring for his family.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Margarita Diaz (Zavala) of 60 years. Nine loving children, Manuel Diaz Zavala (Sandy), Consuelo Guzman (Abraham), Elbia Guzman (Roberto), Miguel Diaz (Rosaura), Rafeal Diaz (Trinidad), Jorge Diaz (Maria), Luis Diaz (Trina), Juana Villagomez (Angel), Gerardo Diaz (Berenice); thirty grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; five brothers; two sisters, Refujio, Maria, Noemi, Juventino, Miguel, Salvador, Alonso Diaz. Many caring nieces, nephews and cousins.

Guadalupe was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Sebastiana Diaz; brother, Agustano Diaz; two sisters, Amor and Martina Diaz; one grandson, Jorge Diaz; four great-grandchildren, Guadalupe, Atanacia, Jose Maria and Lorenzo Zuniga.

From where Prayer Services will be held Saturday, August 18, 2007 at 9:15 AM from the Funeral Home to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be TODAY, Friday from 2-9 PM.
