Guadalupe Chavez (nee Paredes)
Age 91 of Lockport, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 24, 2020 with her family by her side.
Born May 19, 1929 in Mexico, Guadalupe was the daughter of Amparo and Maura (Gonzalez) Paredes.
The family fondly remembers Guadalupe with these words: Mama Lupe lived a long and full life as a wonderful mother and homemaker with an unwavering faith in God. Her unconditional love, warmth and support kept our large family united. She treasured her family and devoutly prayed for the happiness and wellbeing of each and every one of us. Sunday mornings were for mass and gathering at her table to share a meal. She was and forever will be the heart of our family.
Guadalupe is survived by her children: Amparo (Jose) Cuevas, Josefina (Amador) Diaz, Francisco (Reyna Lopez) Chavez, Ignacio (the late Argelia Diaz) Chavez, Reyna (Waldemar) Diaz, Lupe (Jesus Pantoja) Chavez, Miguel Angel (Rose Marie Alina) Chavez and Angela (Raul) Ochoa; daughter-in-law: Leticia (Toledo) Chavez; grandchildren: Fabiola, Margarita, Francisco, Adam, Sonia, Karina, Karla, Pedro, Jr., Reyna Delfina, Sara, Rebecca, Victoria, Francisco David, Veronica, George, Monica, Carlo, Christian, Karina Isabel, Nina, Sebastian, Damian, Crystal, Keno, Antonio, Roman and Maximilian; great-grandchildren: Montzi, Abi, Ivy, Mateo, Mia, Diamante, Charlie, Vincent, Juliette, Alexander, Eric, Noah, Sarabella, Frankie, Jr., Isaiah, Olivia, William and Julian, and great-great grandchild: Camila.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Francisco Chavez, parents: Amparo and Maura; sons: Pablo and Pedro Chavez; grandchild: Niko Chavez and brother: Manuel Paredes.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held and Guadalupe will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park – Hills of Rest in Joliet next to her husband.
