Guacolda Barahona Larrain of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, March 21, 2022 at AMITA Health Saint Joseph Medical Center in Joliet.
Guacolda was a native of the country of Chile. She was born on June 3, 1936, and was the youngest of nine children and a daughter of Teresa Larrain Canales and Javier Barahona Sotomayor.
In her younger years Guacolda was a theater actress, an activity that she enjoyed to the fullest.
Her whole life was given to care for her children and grandchildren. Guacolda loved her family unconditionally and she did everything she could to take care of them. She was the type of person that would stop eating to share what she had and give it to her children or anyone that didn’t have food or a drink. She also loved animals and would often pick them up from the streets of Chile to care for them.
Guacolda is survived by her three daughters: Monica, Elizabeth and Carolina. In the near future her life will be celebrated with the love of all of her loved ones. Additional information will be sent when that day gets closer.

Era la menor de 9 hermanos e hija de Teresa Larraín Canales y Javier Barahona Sotomayor. En sus años de juventud fue actriz de teatro, actividad que disfrutó al máximo. Toda su vida fue entregada al cuidado de sus hijos y nietos. Amaba a su familia incondicionalmente e hizo todo lo posible para cuidarlos. Ella era el tipo de persona que dejaba de comer para compartir lo que tenía y dárselo a sus hijos o a cualquier persona que no tuviera comida o bebida. Amaba a los animales y a menudo los recogía de las calles de Chile para cuidarlos. Le sobreviven sus 3 hijas Mónica, Elizabeth y Carolina. En un futuro cercano su vida será celebrada con el amor de todos sus seres queridos. La información se enviará cuando ese día se acerque.
