Glenn E. Brown, Sr., age 84, born May 1, 1928 and passed away August 26, 2012.

Survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Olga T. Brown (nee Papesh); his loving children Roseann (Larry) Fiarman, Mary Kay Bregar, Glenn (Terri Trolinger) Brown Jr., Peggy Sue (Kurt) Stalzer, Lori Ann Brown and Michael Brown; his cherished grandchildren David and Ariele Fiarman, Michael, Paul and Kaylyn Bregar and Kelli and Kurt Stalzer; Great-grandson Adam Bregar; brother-in-law Peter "Benny" (Teresa) Papesh; sisters-in-law Mary Jane (Ronald) Vergo and Sister Mary Flora Papesh, OSF; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his loving daughter Paula Brown; his parents Carl and Catherine Gifford; sister Joyce (Ron) Borella and father-in-law John (Anna) Papesh.

Glenn retired after 30 years of employment from Fisher Body. He proudly served in the Army Air Corp during WWII. Glenn was an avid runner and he ran many marathons, most notably the Boston and Chicago marathons. He continued to run until the age of 75. Glenn was a longtime sax player since high school and during his military service. Our family was blessed with the best husband, dad and grandpa, and we thank God for lending him to us for these 84 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Joliet Area Community Hospice or to St. Ambrose Church, Crest Hill.

A Celebration of Glenn's life will begin on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ambrose Church. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Thursday, August 30, 2012 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and again from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
