Geraldine L. Jankowski

Geraldine L. Jankowski (nee Ashley) "Bum," age 81, at rest on Thursday, June 12, 2014 with her loving family by her side.
Geraldine is survived by her children, Kathleen (Richard) Luzbetak, Raymond (Ruth) Jankowski, Linda Anderson, Leonard (Ede) Jankowski, Maryanne (Sonny) Skole, Fr. James Jankowski; grandchildren, Jeffrey (Angie) Luzbetak, Charlene (Paul) Abbinati, Ron (Kim) Fowler, Chris (Bud) Stonebraker, Lori (Matt) O'Hagan, Jennifer (Jerome) McClellan, Sunianne Skole, Matthew Skole, Matthew Morris, Mitchell Morris; great-grandchildren, Josh Fowler, Jacob and Kira Stonebraker, Emma and Abby O'Hagan, Brody and Gavin Luzbetak; daughter-in-law, Barb Morris; sister-in-law, Judy (the late John) Ashley. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin Morris (1978); second husband, Edward "Stump" Jankowski (1986); her son, Phillip Morris (2000); parents, Raymond and Scharlene Ashley; sister, Norma (Val) Lorenz; and brother, John Ashley.
Geraldine graduated from the Joliet Junior College School of Nursing. She then went on to practice nursing at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Home and Lakewood Nursing Home. Bum devoted her life to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved spending every moment possible with them. Bum was an avid Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, and Ohio State fan.

A celebration of Geraldine's life will begin on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Fr. James Jankowski officiating. Per Geraldine's wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no funeral home visitation. There will be no cemetery procession.
