Gerald McDermott Neff, 88, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2022 with his loving family by his side.
Gerald worked at Union Linen as well as working as a City of Joliet municipal worker street foreman for 25 years. He was also President of the Local 440 union for six years as well as working for 25 years part time at Rendels as a tow truck operator. Gerald proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the American Legion Post 1080. Our dad and grandfather was an avid fisherman. He just loved being at his cabin in the northwoods of Wisconsin fishing and relaxing with his grandchildren, great grandchildren, family and friends. He also loved going to his great-grandchildren’s soccer and baseball games. He will be missed dearly. We would also like to thank everyone for their excellent care and compassion at Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Lightways. In lieu of flowers please donate to the charity of your choice.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Gerald and Evelyn, brother: James and his second wife Eileen.
Left to cherish his memory is Margaret Neff mother to his children: Susie (Larry) and Karen (Ray); grandchildren: Chris, Steven and Matthew and great-grandchildren: Parker and Reese. Gerald is also survived by one sister: Margaret “Peggy” as well as Eileen’s children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
