Gerald L. Alton, 75 years, January 24, 2015 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Theresa (nee Jandura); three children, Cindy (Tim) Walsh, Gerald Jr. "Butch" (Sue) Alton and Karen (Marty) Walsh; grandchildren, Nicole Walsh, Kelly (Chris) Roberts, Kali, Mallory and Madelyn Alton, Mike Walsh, Amy (Jimmy) Vega and Kevin Walsh; three great-grandchildren, Anthony, Nicholas Vega and Adelaide Roberts; one sister, Patti Fagan; one sister-in-law, Jesse Alton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; and one faithful friend, Molly.
Preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Juanita Alton; three brothers, Charles Jr., Jack (Katie), Donald (Beulah) Alton; two sisters, Mildred Alton and Dorothy (Floyd) Meredith.
Born in Elwood, IL and resident of Joliet for 56 years. Employed at Caterpillar for 21 years retiring in 2002. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and was a member of the Jackson Township Sportsman's Club.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Gerald's name to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 28, 2015 in the Tezak Funeral Home Chapel, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet at 11:00 a.m. Interment at a later date. Visitation will be on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Tezak Funeral Home from 3-7 p.m. and 1 hour before service on Wednesday.
