George Tadej Jr., age 80, passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024, in Naperville, Illinois, surrounded by loved ones. He was a longtime resident of Joliet, known for his dedication to his community and his craftsmanship. George was the proud owner of his own shop, where he provided exemplary bodywork and mechanic services, leaving a lasting impact on those he served.
George served proudly in the United States Navy from 1965-1968 honorably. Throughout his life, George also worked for Lockport Well and Pump, demonstrating his versatility and work ethic. He also worked at Russ and company as a mechanic and painter for some time as well.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Gertrude Tadej Sr., as well as his daughter Denise Clark; niece: Kerry Tadej, and his brother Bob Tadej.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Jean Tadej; children: George "Jason" Tadej, Gregory Tadej, Michelle Allen, James Clark, Tracy Daniels, along with his nephew Jeff (Lisa) Tadej, and his niece Tammy (Palaschi) Tadej. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren. George is also survived by his brothers: Lester Tadej and Jerry (Kim) Tadej. George’s legacy lives on through the lives he touched and the memories he created.
George Tadej Jr. will be remembered for his hard work, generosity, and unwavering dedication to his family and community. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of George's life will be held on Monday, April 1, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL. Services will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at 9:15 am with the funeral procession to depart shortly after to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL for a 10:30 am committal services with military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Will County Human Society, 24109 Seil Rd, Shorewood, IL 60404. May he rest in peace, and may his spirit continue to inspire those who knew him.
