At rest Sunday, April 6, 2008, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with diabetes, heart failure, and kidney failure.
Survived by his Loving wife and best friend of 54 years, Bernadine H. (nee Mlakar); children, George (Wanda), Deborah (David) Baumann, and Lynn (Karla Vosburg). Grandfather of Dennis Price, Douglas Price, Michael (fiancee, Melissa) Mejia, Anna (Keith) Marchant, Agnes (boyfriend, John Miniuk) Mlodzik, David, and Jennifer Vosburg; great- grandfather of Paul and Justin Marchant, Jasmine, Aaron, Aiden, and Janelle Price, Christa and Liliana Mejia. Sisters-in-law, Margaret (Alvin) Attaway, Donna Mlakar, and Irma Mlakar; brother-in-law, John Bubica. Numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and good friends also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents, Elswin (Jack) and Eva Maria (Rust) Price; son, Michael Francis in infancy; brother, William Price; sister, Jackie (Lee Jay) Thompson; father and mother-in-law, Frank and Anna Mlakar; two brothers-in-law, Frank and James Mlakar; sister- in-law, Marion Bubica.
George was born in Chicago on October 5,1931. He was a graduate of Minooka High School in 1949 and he retired from Western and Southern Life Insurance in 1989 after 30 years of service.
Member of Joliet Elks lodge 296, Knights of Columbus, Joliet Loyal Order of Moose #300, St. Mary Nativity Joanites, and the Senior Citizens Association Club. In 2002, he was inducted into the Senior Services Center Hall of Fame nominated by the Joanites Club.
George was a great dancer, excellent card player, avid fisherman, flew remote control airplanes, and was a die-hard White Sox and Bears fan. He loved to travel and gamble.
The family would like to thank Dr. John Dongas, Dr. Karla Shivley, Dr. Naila Ahmad, Dr. Alex Sosenko, Dr. Orenic, Rev Rodney Juell, and the staff at Joliet Area Community Hospice for
their care and devotion during this difficult time.
He was the best husband, father, grandfather, and friend anyone could have. Dad thanks for the memories.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
At George's request, cremation rites were accorded.
Visitation and Video Tribute Wednesday from 2 to 8 PM at Tezak's Home to Celebrate Life.
The family invites relatives and friends to join them for a Memorial Mass Thursday at Our Lady Angels Home 12:30 pm, Private Inurnment.
