Genevieve A. Jagodzinski (nee Gawinski), age 92, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 24, 2017.
Genevieve is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth (John) Zaborsky, Julie (Albert) Clark, Lynda (Robert) Hedtcke, Eugene Jr., Tom (Sharon), Mark (Ann), Jerry, and John (Christine) Jagodzinski; grandchildren, John, Amy, Jennifer, John R., David M., Stacy, James, Cara, Christopher, Nicholas, Emma, and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Liam, Kennedy, Vivien, Michael, Caleb, Lydia and Julia. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eugene Jagodzinski (2014); daughter, Kathy Mason (2015); parents, Bernard and Julia (nee Prochnick) Gawinski.
Genevieve was born in North Dakota, raised in East Chain, Minnesota on a farm and resided in Joliet since 1947 when she married her beloved husband, Eugene. She was a lifelong parishioner of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Joliet and a member of the Women’s Club. She was an avid gardener and a proud election judge. Genevieve was a devoted and caring mother who unselfishly raised her nine children and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Genevieve’s life will begin on Friday, December 29, 2017 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 10:15 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Patrick Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
