Gazella Cernugel

Nee Flaynik Age 90, at rest Saturday December 22, 2007 at Provena St. Joseph Medical Center with her loving family by her side.
Born July 30, 1917 in Joliet. Giz was raised in Rockdale and worked at the American Can Factory. After her marriage to Joe in 1942 she moved to Joliet where she resided until her death.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 65 years, Joseph J. Cernugel, her daughter, Janet (Terry) Muir, her son, Joseph M. (Janet) Cernugel, her grandchildren. Tracy (J.B.) Phillips, Kelly (Jonathan) Davis, Jody Muir, Joe Cernugel, Danny Cernugel and her great-grandchildren, Samantha, Kristen and Haley Phillips. Also survived by her sister, Loretta Flaynik, her brother William (Gertrude) Flaynik and brothers-in-law and Sisters-in-law.
Preceded in death by her parents, Michael and Mayme (Stanfel) Flaynik, sister, Delores Flaynik and brothers, Donald and Elmer Flaynik.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her greatest joy was the accomplishments of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Giz always made sure she was there for her grandchildren and all their performances and sporting events. She was their biggest fan and supporter in everything they did. Her family will miss her very much.

From where Funeral Services will be held Wednesday December 26 at 10:30 AM to St. Joseph Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery Visitation Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
