Gael Terrazas Chavez

Gael Terrazas (Chapulín), 49, passed away on Wednesday , April 2, 2025. He was born in Torreón, Coahuila, on November 21, 1975.

Gael immigrated to San Francisco, CA, in 1992. He then moved to Garden City and finally to the city of Chicago in 1994, where he began working in construction. In 1996, he started his family.

Gael (Chapulín) was always a very hardworking person who inspired us to be like him. But above all, he was an exemplary father and husband. A humble person with much respect. Every memory and experience will remain forever in our hearts. He went ahead to the presence of our Father God and will always live in our hearts. This is not a goodbye, but a see you soon. We will love you forever and always.

He is preceded in death by his father, Roberto Terrazas, and his siblings, Carlos and Caridad.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Veronica Terrazas, and his children, Gael Jr., Israel, Ángel, and María Guadalupe. He is also survived by his mother, Natividad Chávez, and his siblings Saúl, Guadalupe, Roberto, Luis, César, Fe, Esperanza, Anabel, Abel, and Raquel.

A celebration of Gael's life will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, with visitation from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL.

The funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 11:00 am at St. Dominic Church, 440 East Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, IL. Burial will follow at Plainfield Township Cemetery, 15502 Joliet Road, Plainfield, IL.

Gael Terrazas (Chapulín), de 49 años, falleció el Miércoles, 2 de Abril de 2025. Nació en Torreón, Coahuila, el 21 de Noviembre de 1975.

Gael emigró a San Francisco, California, en 1992. Luego se mudó a Garden City y finalmente a la ciudad de Chicago en 1994, donde comenzó a trabajar en la construcción. En 1996, formó su familia.

Gael (Chapulín) siempre fue una persona muy trabajadora que nos inspiró a ser como él. Pero sobre todo, fue un padre y esposo ejemplar. Una persona humilde y con mucho respeto. Cada recuerdo y experiencia permanecerá por siempre en nuestros corazones. Él adelantó su camino hacia la presencia de nuestro Padre Dios y vivirá siempre en nuestros corazones. Esto no es un adiós, sino un hasta pronto. Te amaremos por siempre.

Le preceden en la muerte su padre, Roberto Terrazas, y sus hermanos, Carlos y Caridad.

Deja para recordar su memoria a su esposa, Verónica Terrazas, y a sus hijos, Gael Jr., Israel, Ángel y María Guadalupe. También le sobreviven su madre, Natividad Chávez, y sus hermanos Saúl, Guadalupe, Roberto, Luis, César, Fe, Esperanza, Anabel, Abel y Raquel.

Una celebración de la vida de Gael se llevará a cabo el Martes 8 de Abril de 2025, con visita de 2:00 pm a 8:00 pm en la funeraria Tezak, 1211 Plainfield Rd, Joliet, IL.

La misa funeral se celebrará el Miércoles 9 de Abril de 2025 a las 11:00 am en la Iglesia de San Dominic, 440 East Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, IL. El entierro seguirá en el Cementerio del Municipio de Plainfield, 15502 Joliet Road, Plainfield, IL.
