Markelz, and Diane (Kevin) Lodge, Dearest grandfather to Lance, Brittani and Tiffani Markelz, Jennifer Anderson, Nathan Lodge, and Jessica Ramerize, four great grandchildren; Samantha Markelz, Madilen Anderson, Arabella Lodge, and Gabriel Ramerize, a sister Jean (Bill) Mammosser, two brothers; Dr. Robert (Evelyn), and James (Marge) Markelz. Numerous nieces, ne-phews, and cousins also survive. Preceded in death by his wife Janet (nee Harms) Markelz (1990), and his parents, Anton J. (1965) and Angela B. (nee Kostelz) Markelz (1993). Frederick was born in Joliet and has resided in the Joliet and Plainfield areas for all of his life. He served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Markelz Office Products in 1975, and then he and his wife, Janet founded the Will County Sharpening Service in 1977. Frederick was a musician playing the Organ, Accordion, and Button Box. He was also an avid Cubs and Jack Hammers Fan. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or charity of the donor's choice in Frederick's name would be appreciated. Carl J. Markelz. Interment Plainfield City Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 7 p.m.
