Fred E. Verbic Jr.

Fred E. Verbic, Jr., age 71, entered into eternal life on Monday, April 11, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.

Fred is survived by his beloved of 49 years, Connie (nee Hazel); loving sons, Michael (Megan) and Mark (Janice) Verbic; dear brother, Don (the late Lori) Verbic; dear nieces, Katie (Paul) Fisher and Anne Verbic; as well as many cousins.

Preceded in death by his parents, Fred Sr. and Mildred (nee Raspolich) Verbic.

Fred was a longtime Cubs and Joliet Catholic Football fan. He was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School in the Class of ’62. He retired from Illinois Bell/AT&T after 30 years of employment as materials manager. He was a member of the Southside Civic Club, Croatian Cultural Club, and Knights of Columbus. Fred enjoyed traveling and was particularly fond of spending time relaxing on the beach. His greatest joys in life were his wife and his children.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. R.S. Schubert for the excellent care he has provided throughout the years.

A Celebration of Fred’s life will begin on Thursday, April 14, 2016 with a visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass of Christian Burial at 12:00 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rockdale. Per Fred’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Interment will be held privately at a later date. There will be no services held at the funeral home.
