Frank M. Stiglich “Stig,” age 89, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 17, 2024.
Frank is survived by his loving children, Linda (Tom) Hastings, Mary (Phil) Kubinski and Susan (Tony) Montello; special friend, Carole Costa and her family; grandchildren, Nick (Kayla) Hastings, Corey Kubinski, Jessica (Mike) Law, Cole Kubinski and Daniel Montello; great-grandchildren, Sydney and Ben Hastings and Jaxson Law; sister, Lillian (the late Joseph) Kucharz; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lillian (nee Joutras); parents, Charles and Pauline (nee Senffner) Stiglich; son, Frank E. Stiglich; grandson, Brian Hastings; siblings, Charles “Chuck” (Alice) Stiglich, Rose (Geno) Pesavento, Frances “Sis” (Ronald) Zola; and nephew, Ronnie Zola.
Frank was a proud United States Army Veteran and a member of the Teamsters Local #179. After his retirement he worked for the Catholic Cemeteries. Frank was a member of the Croatian Cultural Club, South Side Civic Club and the Rivals Club. While visiting the local clubs, Frank loved dancing and listening to the classic polkas. Frank loved to have a good time and be around people, especially his family and friends. For the past year and a half, he resided at the Timbers of Shorewood where he continued to make friends and enjoy his time. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s name to Lighthouse Hospice and Palliative Care would be appreciated.
A celebration of Frank’s life will be held on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 with prayers in the funeral home chapel at 9:20 a.m. then driving in procession to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church in Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10:00 a.m. Per Frank’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded following Mass. Interment will be held privately at a later date. Frank will be laid to rest at St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery with his wife Lillian. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road, Joliet from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.Tuesday, May 21, 2024
