Frank Mendoza
Age 80 of Chaney/Crest Hill, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at home with his loving family by his side.
Born October 3, 1941 in Joliet, Frank was a son of Pascual and Delores (Magana) Mendoza. He was raised and educated in the Joliet area and graduated from Lockport Township High School with the class of 1959. Frank worked as a machinist and retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company after 32 years of dedication to the company. On September 7, 1963, Frank married his best friend, Antionette Alberico at St. Mary Carmelite Church in Joliet. Together they made a home and raised their family. He was a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan, as well as an avid fisherman who loved taking family vacations to the Northwoods of Wisconsin. In his free time he enjoyed trips to the casino, a cold beverage and a scratch off ticket or two, but most of all, spending time with his family. Frank will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years: Antionette; son: Frank (Denise) Mendoza; daughter: Tina (Edward) Zugel; grandchildren: Lauren (Anthony) Miroballi and Kyle (Jesica) Zugel; great-grandson: Weston Zugel; sisters: Darlene (Jesse) Moreno and Delores Mendoza; brother: Richard (Lori) Mendoza; brother-in-law: Paul (Bernadine) Alberico, and sisters-in-law: Phyllis (Victor) Carusi and Marianna Alberico, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents: Pascual and Delores; mother and father-in-law: Vitantonio and Mafalda Alberico; sister: Margaret Castillo; brothers-in-law: Jesse Moreno, Guty Castillo, Berardino and Rafael Alberico, and his dog: Boy.
Per Frank’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
The family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial visitation on Sunday, July 10, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until time of memorial service beginning at 4:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home, 1211 Plainfield Road in Joliet.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made as gifts in Frank’s memory to Lightways Hospice Care.
