Frank "Chip" Kodiak, age 67, of Wilmington, passed away March 16, 2011.
Beloved husband of 38 years to Carol Kodiak (nee Clennon); loving father of Chad (Jennifer), Cari (Bryan) Pyka and Cris; adored "Papa" of Max and Mia Pyka and Jackson Kodiak; dear brother of Rosemary (Thomas) Murphy and Barbara (Richard) Siebert; caring uncle to numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and a friend to all.
Preceded in death by his parents, Anne "Goldie" and Frank Kodiak.
Chip was the owner of Kodo Pharmacy and Joliet Professional Pharmacy and served the community as a pharmacist for over 41 years. He was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School and Purdue University. He was a member of Phi Kappa Theta fraternity where he formed life-long friendships. Chip was a fan of Purdue Boilermaker football, basketball, and water ski teams. He was an avid boater that navigated the Des Plaines River and four of the Great Lakes. He never missed his summer boat trips on Lake Michigan and was happiest on the water.
A man of great faith, Chip was a longtime parishioner of the Cathedral of St. Raymond. Nothing gave him more joy than spending time with his family. He will be remembered for his love of life, constant smile, and infectious laughter.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Purdue University, Cathedral of St. Raymond, or United Cerebral Palsy.
A Celebration of Chip's life will begin on Monday, March 21 at 10:30 a.m. with prayers in the funeral home chapel then driving in procession to the Cathedral of St. Raymond for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be on Sunday from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Tezak Funeral Home (1211 Plainfield Road - Joliet, IL 60435)
