Francis J. Klen Sr. A�??Frank,A�?i�� age 87 of Lockport, at rest on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Silver Cross Hospital.
Survived by his loving wife of 46 years Rosann (nee Moon); five children Mary Holloway, Gordon Gable, Roschelle (Roger) Vaughn, Frankie Jr., Paula (Darrin) James; one brother John (Bess) Klen; one sister Mary (late Andrew) Kapinus; 12 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Preceded in death by his parents Julius and Anna (nee Maxon) Klen; two sisters Helen (in infancy) and Ann (Robert) Gosack; and one daughter Bernadine Gable.
Frank was born in Joliet and attended Joliet Township High School. He served in the United States Army during WWII in the Communications Division in Europe and was awarded the bronze star medal for bravery. Frank enjoyed reading and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to be used according to their wishes.
A Celebration of FrankA�??s life will begin on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at 10:15 a.m. with prayers at the funeral home chapel then moving in procession to St. Joseph Catholic Church in Lockport, for a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Interment at St. Joseph Cemetery in Joliet. Visitation will be on Monday, February 11, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at TezakA�??s Home to Celebrate Life.
