Frances Nurczyk

Age 90, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the Joliet Area Community Hospice Home. Frances was a lifelong resident of the Rockdale and Joliet area.

Survived by three daughters Madonna (Ken) Kestel of Manhattan, Karla Nurczyk of Joliet and Mary Beth (Richard) Goolsby of Elwood; four grandchildren Melissa and Brian Kestel, Michael Goolsby and Stephanie (fiance' Chris Wolff) Goolsby; and one brother Raymond (late Shirley) Smajd. Numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive.

Preceded in death by her husband, Stephen Nurczyk; son Michael; parents Michael and Anna (nee Vranesic) Smajd; four sisters, Mary (late Michael) Papesh, Ann (Edward) Randich, infant sisters, Anna Smajd and Angela Smajd; four brothers Joseph (Rose), Albin (Jacqueline), William and Carl (June) Smajd.

Member of Weight Control, St. Joseph Church of Rockdale Council of Catholic Women and the KSKJ.

Fran was a loving, strong and funny person. Her immediate and extended family were always first with her, along with her faith. Her consistently positive outlook on life and her gratitude for what she had kept her amazingly young. She was the best potica baker in Joliet. Her family will miss her love, guidance and support, but they know she will always be with them.

From where services will be held on Monday, March 3, 2008 at 9:30 AM to St. Joseph Church in Rockdale for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-6 PM.
