Frances C. Hibler

Frances C. Hibler, age 94, passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice in Joliet, IL on November 11, 2024. She was born in Joliet, IL to her parents John Bauc and Marija Bauc (nee Gudac) on March 6, 1930.

Frances was a lifelong Joliet resident. She met her husband, the late Ralph Hibler Sr., at Malnar’s Tap. The two fell in love and were married, and eventually were blessed with two children. In the early 1960’s, she and her husband opened Minooka Foods Grocery in Minooka, IL. She was absolutely devoted to her cats, enjoyed bird watching, and was a devout Catholic completely committed to her faith. Her children will be forever grateful for the wonderful home that she so caringly maintained for them during their childhoods.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Ralph Hibler Sr., her son-in-law Richard Norris, her sister Mary (August) Bernickus, and her brother Peter (Natalina) Bauc.

Frances is survived by her daughter Paula (the late Richard) Norris, her son Ralph (Jayna) Hibler Jr., her granddaughter Patti Smith, and great grandsons Hudson and Bryson Smith. Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members also survive. The family would like to extend a special note of gratitude to the entire staffs at Arcadia Nursing Home in Morris and Morris Hospital for the excellent care that they provided late in Frances’ life. In lieu of flowers, any donations made to Lightways Hospice in Joliet in Frances’ name would be appreciated.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 10:00 am – 12:00 pm at Tezak’s Home to Celebrate Life, 1211 Plainfield Rd., Joliet, IL 60435. There will be a Chapel Prayer Service at 12:00 with interment to follow at St. Mary Nativity Cemetery, the corner of Caton Farm Rd. and Oakland Ave. in Crest Hill, IL.
