Flora V. Yale (nee Ventsias), age 90, at rest on Saturday, June 01, 2013 with her family by her side.
She is survived by her loving children Anna (Ted Blankenhagen) Rousonelos, Dr. Bonnie Yale, Robert (Camille) Yale and James (Anne Marie) Yale; her eight beloved grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; two brothers James (the late Blanche), Gus (Ann) Ventsias; her sisters-in-law Dottie (the late John), Dixie (the late Pete), and Bonnie (the late Nick) Ventsias; her daughter-in-law Karen (the late Michael P.) Dillon; numerous nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.
She is preceded in death by her parents Spero and Anna (nee Theoharakis) Ventsias; her brothers Ted (Diane), Tom (Lucy), and Mike (Babs) Ventsias.
Flora grew up in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1941. The Ventsias family moved to Joliet in 1942 and she has been a resident ever since. Flora worked as a grocery clerk for many years and after retirement she volunteered for the Joliet Police Department. She will be remembered fondly as a woman of character and good humor.

The family invites relatives and friends to gather at the Woodlawn Memorial Park Chapel for a committal service to begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 5, 2013. Interment to follow at Hills of Rest Cemetery. Per FloraA�??s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services at the funeral home.
